When your body goes into “fight-or-flight” mode, it is important to remember to breathe. Taking deep breaths followed by a controlled exhale can calm you down when you are feeling overwhelmed. Additionally, breathing can help with sleep as it calms your nervous system and helps you focus on something other than not being able to fall asleep. To get the most benefit out of breathing exercises, it is recommended that you make breathing exercises part of your daily routine. The more you practice, the easier it will be.
